IT LIVES UNDER THE DOCK
A classic trucker cap featuring a fishing spider on patrol, for anyone familiar with the moment you reach for a dock line and discover that someone the size of your hand has already claimed it.
Structured foam front, breathable mesh back, adjustable snap closure, and a comfortable one-size fit. Suitable for boating, fishing, cottage weekends, and quietly deciding that whatever you dropped under the dock belongs to the lake now.
The Billy Goats had a troll. We have a spider. His name is Craig.
Security is on duty. Please do not disturb.
THEM’S FIGHTING WORDS
A classic trucker cap for people who enjoy a little unnecessary conflict.
It says THE MUSKOKAS. That's it. That's the whole provocation. Wear it to the cottage, the dock, the grocery store, or anywhere else you might encounter someone who feels surprisingly strongly that Muskoka must never, under any circumstances, be pluralized.
This is not a hat for the meek. Wear it anyway. If you dare.
Structured foam front, breathable mesh back, adjustable snap closure, and a comfortable one-size fit. Rugged enough for cottage country. Petty enough for The Muskokas.
BACK AWAY SLOWLY
A classic trucker cap featuring a Canada goose, for anyone who understands that visiting cottage country comes with certain risks and responsibilities.
Structured foam front, breathable mesh back, adjustable snap closure, and a comfortable one-size fit. Ideal for the dock, the boat, the general store, and standing patiently beside your car while someone takes as long as they damn well please to cross the road.
Sometimes the locals are geese. Sometime they’re people from Bracebridge who just hate you for no reason.
Same thing.
Canadian Cobra: Born Out of Spite
THE HAT THAT STARTED IT ALL
“The Muskokas.”
Say it around the wrong person and you'll find out remarkably quickly that some people have very strong feelings about the letter S.
The Muskokas is wrong. Tourist talk. Toronto nonsense. A linguistic abomination that immediately reveals you weren't personally delivered at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital and carried home in a cedar-strip canoe. There is only Muskoka, you will be told.
Except that’s bullshit.
People have been calling it The Muskokas for well over a century. The plural turns up in historical accounts from the 1800s. It's been used in books, reports and travel writing. And it makes perfectly ordinary sense: the historic heart of cottage country is the Muskoka Lakes—Muskoka, Rosseau and Joseph, along with the communities and lakes surrounding them.
The Muskokas. English can handle this. Some people cannot.
Well, one day I saw a bunch of grown-ass adults bullying some guy online for using the term and I thought Fuck this shit. That’s enough. So, I made the hat.
THE MUSKOKAS.
No apology. No footnote. No municipal disclaimer.
But understand something before you buy one:
You have to be tough as fuck to wear this hat.
This is not decorative headwear that just keeps the sun out of your eyes. This is an invitation to unsolicited public commentary. Eventually someone will spot it from across a marina and approach you with purpose. They have been waiting years for this. They are going to tell you nobody from Muskoka calls it The Muskokas. You must be a cidiot. Go back to Toronto.
You are now in a confrontation you technically paid money to have. Stand your ground. Because Canadian Cobra was built on a simple principle: If people have been saying something for more than a hundred years, it appears in the historical record, everyone understands exactly what it means, and it still makes somebody furious—put it on a fucking hat.
NOT JUST HATS THO
That being said, we’re making other stuff too. This is cottage country streetwear. Stay tuned for new designs. And watch out for deer and chipmunks. Those assholes love to jump in front of your car.
